ITINERARY
From experience, it is highly recommended that you arrive in Cape Town at least one day prior to the tour commencement date, to enable you to unwind from your lengthy flight, relax and unwind in the comfort of your hotel. Airport transfers will be arranged accordingly.
Distance – 30kmIn the afternoon you will have the option of a short/cruisy ride to stretch the legs and ensure the bikes are okay.
Over an evening sundowner, you will get to meet your fellow adventurers and the Après Vélo team, who will provide a tour briefing, which will be followed by a Group Welcome Dinner.

- Drive the iconic Chapman’s Peak for breathtaking coastal views.

Our morning includes a visit to Table Mountain (where we will meet the non-rider’s), one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, and take a cable car to the summit to soak in panoramic vistas of the city, Atlantic Ocean, and Robben Island.
For those participating in the Cape Cycle Tour (not officially part of the Après Vélo tour), this is the perfect time to visit the Cape Argus Expo Village to collect your race essentials and explore a vibrant cycling expo featuring top exhibitors from across Africa.

For those not riding, we have an unforgettable morning hike up Lion’s Head, Cape Town’s most beloved trail. This moderate 2–3-hour climb rewards hikers with breathtaking 360-degree views from its 669m summit. Alternatively, an optional ride can be arranged upon request.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy - relax at your leisure or let us arrange a tour tailored to your interests.
Dinner – Post Race Celebratory drinks and dinner, shouted by Après Vélo.

Next, we visit the Jewel of the Winelands and winner of numerous international awards - Delaire Graff Estate for a long, leisurely lunch, while admiring panoramic views of manicured vineyards, lush gardens, and the breathtaking mountain backdrop.
Time permitting, we explore the estate’s stunning grounds before heading to our luxury boutique hotel, set amidst rolling vineyards and framed by majestic peaks, offering a perfect retreat in the heart of wine country.
Dinner – This evening is free for you to do as you choose in the beautiful town of Franschhoek.
Accommodation – Last Word Franschhoek
The experience goes beyond the ordinary, allowing you to immerse yourself in a half day Stellenbosch leisurely cycling tour. The trails steer you through scenic private vineyards stopping for wine tastings along the way.
Alternatively, there’s a hiking wine tasting option for those who prefer.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit Boschendal Wine Estate, one of the Cape’s oldest and most renowned wineries. Here, we’ll indulge in a refreshing wine tasting before enjoying a picturesque picnic lunch in the estate’s stunning gardens.

Accommodation – Last Word Franschhoek
Check into your luxurious Bayethe Suite, a secluded retreat immersed in lush vegetation, complete with a private plunge pool and outdoor shower -offering the perfect blend of comfort and nature.
Following a welcome lunch, we ease into the wilderness with a short orientation ride to familiarize ourselves with bush riding protocol and the off-road bikes provided.
Thereafter, it’s time for an unforgettable afternoon game drive, led by our personal ranger, as we set out in search of Africa’s iconic wildlife in this breathtaking reserve.

At 5AM, enjoy freshly brewed coffee, tea, and pastries before choosing your morning adventure:
- Option 1: An epic 30-40km ride through diverse bush terrain riding tracks like never before, safety intact, so we can witness majestic wildlife in their natural habitat (3-4 hours).
- Option 2: A guided safari hike for an immersive experience on foot (3 hours).
- Option 3: A classic morning game drive, tracking Africa’s iconic wildlife (3 hours).
After an exhilarating start, return for a hearty breakfast, followed by a leisurely afternoon before a delicious lunch.

After a leisurely breakfast, our team will transfer you to Port Elizabeth Airport, where you will board a flight to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, arriving by mid-afternoon.
From here, you will continue with your onward journey, carrying with you a treasure trove of memories from South Africa’s breathtaking landscapes, thrilling adventures, and extraordinary wildlife encounters. Safe travels!
