This fully supported tour spans approximately 280km with a total elevation gain of 4,900m, offering a balanced mix of moderate climbs and rewarding descents—perfect for riders seeking a challenge without pushing to the extreme.
Led by renowned cycling photographer and local guide Beardy McBeard, you’ll experience a curated collection of Tasmania’s finest routes—including the iconic ascent of Mt Wellington and Bruny Island.
Our Grupetto journey blends moderate challenge with reward, all with unforgettable scenery and gravel segments through forested and Tuscan-like landscapes.
Beyond the bike, the Après Vélo lifestyle kicks in—relax, refuel, and revel in the finest Tasmanian hospitality. Explore historic Hobart’s Salamanca Place and Constitution Dock, and savour the region’s rich food and wine culture. Cruisy ride in the afternoon to get the legs moving and ensure your bike set up is good to go.
Dinner – Welcome dinner shouted by Après Vélo
DISTANCE: 79km
ELEVATION: 830m
A spectacular Bruny Island ride. We transfer guests across to the Ferry which departs from Kettering Marina. Think panoramic views, penguins, beaches, bakeries, towering seaside cliffs. A stop at the Bruny Island Cheese Co is a must with some of Tassies finest cheeses made on the island. After a hearty pub lunch at Adventure Bay, we retrace our treads back to the Ferry.
DISTANCE: 53km (16km gravel)
ELEVATION: 1395m
We ride over the foothills of Mt Wellington. We will cycle through the historic pipeline track meandering beneath the canopy of ancient trees and ferns, before heading off to climb the iconic Mt Wellington. There is the option to do half the climb, stopping off at the Lost Freight Café, for a steamy cuppa.
Dinner – Shouted by Après Vélo (Venue TBA).
